This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit https://planetpatrol.co/, our website or download our Planet Patrol mobile app (collectively our “Services”) regardless of where you visit them from, or otherwise provide us with personal data and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
This privacy policy applies in addition to our Mobile Application Terms and Conditions and is provided in a layered format so you can click through to the specific areas set out below. Please also use the GLOSSARY to understand the meaning of some of the terms used in this privacy policy.

1 IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WHO WE ARE
1.1 Purpose of this privacy policy
1.1.1 This privacy policy aims to give you information on how we collect and process your personal data through your use of our Services.
1.1.2 Our Services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
1.1.3 It is important that you read this privacy policy together with any other privacy policy or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. This privacy policy supplements other notices and is not intended to override them.
1.2 Controller
1.2.1 Planet Patrol CIC (a private company limited by guarantee without share capital and registered in England and Wales with company number 11417810) is the controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as “we“, “us” or “our” in this privacy policy).
1.2.2 You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.
1.3 Changes to our privacy policy and your duty to inform us of changes
1.3.1 We keep our privacy policy under regular review. This version was last updated on 24.1.19.
1.3.2 It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.
1.4 Third-party links
1.4.1 Our Services may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our Services, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website or app that you visit.
2 THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
2.1 Personal data, or personal information, means any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).
2.2 We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:
2.2.1 Identity Data includes first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier, title, date of birth, ethnicity and gender.
2.2.2 Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, home address, email address and telephone numbers.
2.2.3 Financial Data includes bank account and payment card details.
2.2.4 Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of financial donations that you have made to us.
2.2.5 Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, language settings, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
2.2.6 Profile Data includes username and password, financial donations made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses.
2.2.7 Usage Data includes information about how you use our Services.
2.2.8 Marketing and Communications Data includes preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
2.3 We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.
2.4 We collect certain health related information from volunteers. In particular, we ask volunteers to complete medical questionnaires before undertaking any activity. These questionnaires are designed to ensure the safety of all volunteers with certain medical conditions. We will use this data only to comply with our legal obligations, namely, to comply with all applicable health and safety obligations and to ensure a safe volunteering environment for all participants.
2.5 Except to the extent visible in your profile photo or uploads to the app and, where applicable, your responses to the medical declaration on the volunteer consent form and surveys, we do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you. This includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data (where used for ID purposes).
2.6 We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
2.7 If you fail to provide personal data
2.7.1 Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide our Services). In that case, we may have to cancel a service you have with us (such as a scheduled clean-up event) but we will notify you if that is the case at the time.
3 HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED?
3.1 We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:
3.1.1 Direct interactions. You may give us your Identity Data, Contact Data, Financial Data, Profile Data and Marketing and Communications Data by corresponding with us by post, phone, email, filling in forms on our website, or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you:
3.1.1.1 make a financial donation via our website;
3.1.1.2 create an account on our website;
3.1.1.3 subscribe to our newsletter;
3.1.1.4 request marketing information to be sent to you;
3.1.1.5 confirm to us that you would like to be contacted by a third party who may be able to provide you with goods and/or services;

3.1.3 Third parties or publicly available sources. We may receive personal data about you from third parties as set out below:
3.1.3.1 Identity Data, Contact Data, Financial Data and Transaction Data from our providers of technical, payment and delivery services.
3.1.3.2 Technical Data from providers of our website analytics services and advertising networks.
3.1.3.3 Identity Data and Contact Data from publicly available sources such as Companies House and the Electoral Register based inside the European Union.
4 HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
4.1 We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
4.1.1 Where you have consented to our use of your personal data. You have the right to withdraw such consent at any time by contacting us.
