Join Planet Patrol’s Uni Network

Planet Patrol’s Uni Network programme is a growing community of passionate and eco-conscious students championing and advancing Planet Patrol’s mission for a sustainable, litter-free future.

What does it involve?

By joining the Uni Network, you’ll become a representative of the Planet Patrol movement within your university. You’ll receive training and support from the Planet Patrol team to help you organise and run your own litter-picking events and connect with other clubs, societies and individuals.

Your role as a member of the Uni Network will include:

  • Managing your University’s Planet Patrol Facebook group, to raise awareness of their mission, promote events and post about news and local updates
  • Organising and running clean-ups
  • Creating lasting connections with other societies, clubs and departments within your University, with the potential to connect with other Unis too
  • Encouraging and supporting local cafes, bars and restaurants to take the Planet Patrol business pledge – coming soon!
  • Organising fundraising events to raise money for Planet Patrol’s work (optional)
  • Supporting local school’s to join Planet Patrol’s Kid’s Programme, Planet Protectors

You’ll gain valuable experience, knowledge and skills to further your own career development, whilst doing your bit to help clean up the planet. You’ll also have the chance to meet and collaborate with other like-minded university students from across the UK.

How does this all work with regards to Covid-19?

Of course, we know a lot of students are at home at the moment and university learning is now online. But Planet Patrol would still love to hear from you regardless!

The Uni Network will be back up and running as soon as government safety restrictions allow. In the meantime, this is a great period to send in your application and get to grips with how the programme works. Planet Patrol will provide all the resources, training and equipment you’ll need in order to organise and run clean ups safely as soon as it’s allowed. After running virtual global litter picks and socially-distanced clean-ups in 2020, Planet Patrol have certainly got plenty of experience in getting creative when it comes to environmental action!

What does it take to be a member of the Planet Patrol Uni Network?

To join the Planet Patrol Uni Network, you don’t need any qualifications. Planet Patrol is looking for students who are organised, enthusiastic, good communicators and relationship-builders. Most importantly, they want students who are passionate about their mission to achieve a greener, more sustainable, litter-free future and who want to get others involved in helping to make this a reality.

All UK University students are eligible to apply.

How do I get involved?

If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved in, it’s really easy to apply. Follow this link to the Uni Network page of Planet Patrol’s website and fill out an application form: https://planetpatrol.co/uni-network/

Once accepted, you’ll be invited to an onboarding Zoom call with the Planet Patrol team to explain your role a little further and get started!
